MUST Safety Modules Upgrades 

MUST Safety with our partner UL/Pure Safety have been working for the past several months on enhanced performance and content upgrades to the 18 MUST Safety modules.

The new modules utilize HTML 5 in eLearning which is the new industry standard. This offers a mobile-friendly development method that delivers dynamic content, intuitive navigation, faster loading, and increased functionality across multiple browsers, devices and screen sizes.

MUST DRUG POLICY CHANGE
Effective June 1 2014

In response to Industry changes and the expectations of Owner Groups, Contractors, and Unions, MUST is modifying its drug testing policy to cover additional drugs of abuse. The MUST drug testing panel will now include Synthetic Opiates, MDMA (Ecstasy), and 6-AM (6monoacetylmorphine). MUST is committed to bringing highly trained skilled trades workers to all participating jobsites. We will continue working towards 100% Drug Free Work Zones.

US Steel Online Safety Training 

Effective August 4, 2014 Contractors will no longer have to attend the on-site Annual  Contractor Safety Training at US Steel Great Lakes Works. They will be able to log in from any desk top, laptop, notebook, or Smartphone and view the training video by assessing this link

If you are a new user or your training has lapsed you will  have the option to register. All contractors who have received training prior to August 4, 2014 will be in the MTS data base for verification purposes.

The purpose of this correspondence is to remind you that the Drug Testing Funds are authorized to cover an Annual Screening, “one” drug test per calendar year, with the exception of a Random, Recollect, Testing for Cause or a Post-Accident.

WORKER EXCHANGE SYSTEM ROLL OUT

MUST is pleased to announce the addition of the Worker Exchange System to our database as of December 1 2009. The Worker Exchange System (WES) is a patent pending product designed specifically for the unionized construction industry:
The Unions Network. The WES was created with the goal of eliminating redundant costs and establishing a nationwide “Union Network” to share worker data around the country, seamlessly, instantaneously.

CONCENTRA IS NO LONGER CONSIDERED A “PREFERRED” COLLECTION SITE

It has come to our attention that Concentra’s fees have increased substantially for drug screen collections. Due to this price increase, Concentra is no longer considered a “preferred” collection site for MUST or Alere and is being removed from the list of approved collection sites. In an effort to keep your costs down we are urging you to use collection sites other than Concentra.

OSHA 10 & 30 HOUR COURSES NOW ONLINE!

We are excited to announce that UL PureSafety’s OSHA 10 and 30 hour training programs are once again available online. OSHA 10 and 30-Hour general industry and construction programs will enable you to effectively train employees to create a safer work environment and ensure compliance. Our high-quality, highly effective programs meet the criteria outlined by OSHA as well as provide:

  • Flexible Scheduling – Online training allows students to progress through the series of lessons at their own pace. From the time students enroll, they will have six months in which to complete the program.

  • Widely Recognized – With a completion card issued by the U.S. Department of Labor, employers can confirm that students have taken part in a safety training program recognized by OSHA.

  • Support – Students work independently, but not alone. Safety experts and support staff are just a phone call or email away.
